Dear Friends

Alleluia! Christ is risen!

He is risen indeed. Alleluia!

Some of you may be planning to rise early on Easter morning to say the words of the Sunrise Service (sent out earlier today) in your own gardens. If you are an early riser and would like to do so, please send a photo to the Church office at office@parishchurch.co.uk

Welcome to our resources for our Easter Sunday Communion Service.

Once again, we have attached the text set out below in a PDF document.  If you are using the links in the PDF document just click the back button in the top left hand corner of your internet browser each time you reach the end of a link and it will return you to the text in the document.

Song: https://youtu.be/ctxOU4-npLA  See what a morning

The first part of the service contains the opening prayers, the reading from John’s Gospel (John 20: 1-18) the talk and the prayers:  https://youtu.be/oLuWue2JdU8

The second part of the service contains the Communion:  https://youtu.be/YyFkV8m8MpI

In the communion, if you would like to join in with the Lord’s Prayer and the ‘Spiritual Communion’ prayer, you may wish to have the following words handy:

The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,

your kingdom come, your will be done,

on earth as in heaven.

Give us today our daily bread.

Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us.

Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.

For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours

now and for ever.  Amen

Giving of Communion

The church of which we are members is not defined by the walls of a building but by the body of Christ of which we are members.

In making our communion spiritually, we are joining with Christians everywhere to be nourished by the one who tells us, ‘I am the bread of life’.

Thanks be to you, Lord Jesus Christ, for all the benefits you have given me,

for all the pains and insults you have borne for me.

Since I cannot now receive you sacramentally,

I ask you to come spiritually into my heart.

O most merciful redeemer, friend and brother,

may I know you more clearly, love you more dearly

and follow you more nearly, day by day.    Amen

Song: https://youtu.be/GaoV5w2Qfag  Thine be the glory

Remember:

We are safe, we are forgiven, we have been given God’s Spirit.   We have eternal hope.  We have been given life.

Have a blessed Easter.

Steve
